Icy Box USB 2.0 External Drive Packaging and Contents
Visible even before the box is open the enclosure is obviously aimed at pleasing aesthetically as well as with its features, the latter featured on top of the packaging. Make sure you look at the side of the package to see what model you are about to purchase in a retail outlet, as the only indication of what connectivity the unit actually features is printed there.

There are many versions of this even one with SATA. As you can see, the unit I have for review is the USB 2.0 version with just a power socket and switch sharing the backplate with the single USB socket.

Supplied with the unit are power adapter and lead, USB 2.0 cable, stand for vertical use, driver disk with instructions and screws to secure your chosen hard drive into the unit. The use of a bespoke power supply is needed to supply both 12v and 5V, the disadvantage is that you are unlikely to find a replacement easily. Although as this is a very reasonably priced item I would expect you would probably replace the whole thing if it were to eventually go wrong.

Enough about what is included; let’s take a closer look...
